About Derek

I busted out on the scene in 1986, I spent most of my younger years on the streets... Slinging yayo, pimpin, and just general hustlin around town in my donk. Got drafted, did a short stint in NAM. Lost my best friend Bubbles RIP?. Decided to get my life right and found Jesus!

I was introduced to disc golf in mid 2011, started playing competitively in 2012 and as a pro in 2015. I moved through each division quickly so I would always be learning from players who were better than myself:)

Favorite DG memory

Winning my first tournament in the open division. I was blown away to achieve my goal of winning a tournament when I was able to take down the 2015 Monkey Trap Open.

Why disc golf?

I really enjoy both the physical and mental aspects of the game. I've never played another sport that was so mentally challenging. I love touring and traveling and I love spending time competing with friends. I can't imagine doing anything else right now, I'm just bummed it took me so long to find disc golf.
